Negative taken for February 28, 1960, Arkansas Gazette article "Helena Enjoys Era of Industrial Progress," E1:1. The "Pelican" train ferry transported cars from the Illinois Central Railroad on the Mississippi River between Lula, Coahoma County, Mississippi and Helena, Phillips County, Arkansas. The 300 feet long "Pelican" is one of the last remaining steamboats on the Mississippi River.
